Mauro Pezzente is one of GY!BE's founding members, alongside Efrim Menuck and Mike Moya. His bass work anchors the band's early trio history and remains part of the reunited lineup.
His role is less public-facing than some other members, but it is central to the group's continuity. The bass often provides the slow physical ground under drones, field recordings, string lines, and long crescendos.
Pezzente is also part of the Montreal independent arts world around the band's first era, when GY!BE grew out of a local collective environment rather than a conventional commercial-band structure.
