Exhaust was a Montreal experimental trio featuring Aidan Girt on drums, Gordon Krieger on bass clarinet, and Mike Zabitsky on tape loops and bass guitar.
The band fused repetition, noise, bass clarinet, tape loops, and blunt rhythmic force. Its sound is grittier and more stripped than GY!BE, but it shares the same interest in texture, pressure, and unconventional ensemble roles.
Exhaust belongs in the archive because it documents the rawer underground context around Girt's percussion work.
