Saltland
Rebecca Foon's solo project, built from cello, voice, electronics, and ecological grief.
profile
Saltland is the solo project of Montreal cellist and composer Rebecca Foon, known for her work with Thee Silver Mt. Zion Memorial Orchestra and Esmerine.
The project centers cello, voice, electronics, and slow atmospheric arrangements. Its records often carry ecological and political concerns in a quieter, more intimate form than GY!BE or Silver Mt. Zion.
Saltland belongs here because it extends the chamber side of the Montreal collective into solo composition and environmental lament.
